The Department of Urology of the Jewish General Hospital, is committed to the highest standards of patient care, research and medical education.

As a centre of excellence in the McGill University network, the department is internationally recognized for its leading-edge urologic research in areas such as incontinence, bladder dysfunction, impotence, prostate cancer and kidney cancer.
The Department of Urology also delivers an optimum level of patient care, utilizing minimally invasive techniques that include state-of-the art, robot-assisted surgery.

Our multidisciplinary team encompasses six urologists, a urogynecologist, a uropathologist, three sex therapists, a research nursing team and a clinical nursing team.

In collaboration with the hospital’s Segal Cancer Centre, the Department of Urology operates a renowned diagnostic and treatment centre for prostate cancer as well as Montreal’s longest-established prostate cancer support group. The department’s clinical resources also include a busy bladder cancer treatment centre that administers crucial immuno- and chemotherapy.

In addition, the Department of Urology has developed a comprehensive centre for the diagnosis and treatment of incontinence, which utilizes advanced video-urodynamics evaluation techniques. Department physicians have been pioneers in the use of new technologies such as injectables and male slings to treat male incontinence.
