Behavioural Science Program

Behavioural Science Program

The behavioral science program consists in the introduction of our students and residents to the biopsychosocial model of illness and to a holistic approach to healing. Teaching focuses on interviewing and patient-centred communication skills, family-centred care, behavioural medicine, and counselling skills for family physicians. This program is co-ordinated by the centre's on-site clinical psychologists. Modalities used to effectively teach the behavioural sciences include observation of medical interviews, videotape reviews, role-plays, informal discussions and seminars.
