Core Family Medicine Teaching

Residents in the FM program at the H.F.P.C. are given a full half day, usually on a Wednesday afternoon, for protected teaching time. This includes specialist lectures, case presentation sessions, exam preparation or more specific seminars on various topics in family medicine. Resident-oriented activities such as a weekly Journal Club and end of clinic "mini-rounds" also present opportunities for interactive teaching. Residents in their family medicine block time rotation will have a weekly seminar held on Thursdays covering evidence-based medicine, common problems in clinical practice, and Behavioral Sciences.
