Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Department of the Jewish General Hospital. The goal of volunteers is to provide supplementary help to both patients and staff. They contribute to the well being of patients, their families and to the larger picture of the institution as part of the whole community. As a new volunteer, you become a valued member of a worthy team. We appreciate your contribution and welcome you to take time to learn all about our programs.
In order to become a volunteer, an interview must be set up with the Director of the Volunteer Department. To set up an interview, please refer to the contact information below.
If you are accepted, you will be oriented and trained by the Volunteer Department and the specific area where you are placed. The following list is an example of some of the departments that are available:
Administrative offices (Admitting, Herzl Family Practice Centre, Public affairs and Communications, etc.), Clinics/Outpatient Departments (Endocrinology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Test Centre, etc.), Doctor's offices, Library.
Nursing Units (friendly visiting), Information, Clinics (Oncology, Colorectal, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, etc.), Emergency Department, Hope & Cope, Humanization of Care, Auxiliary projects.
