Maternal-Child Health

In addition to a 3-month core perinatology (obstetrics and neonatology) subspecialty rotation, the residency program provides the residents with the opportunity to follow and deliver their own prenatal patients and care for mother and newborn in the postpartum period. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) compulsory courses assist the residents in developing their skills. The residents will also have the opportunity to work with our on-site paediatric consultant and with the lactation consultation team of the breastfeeding clinic providing help, support and medical follow-up for breastfeeding mothers. A third year maternal and child health enhanced skills program is also available for those interested in perfecting their skills in obstetrical care.
