The majority of the collection was originally under the custody of Rosemary Short, and then was donated by Teodora Constantinescu, Librarian of the Institute of Community and Family Psychiatry, during the preparation of the 50th anniversary of the Division in 2017. The Dessert Cook Book was donated to the Archives in 2015 by Glenn Nashen, Head of Public Relations Dept., who inheriated it from his predecessors.

ScopeContent
This series consists of fliers and announcements that promote Bake Sale and Film Evening, two key annual fundraising events at the Child Psychiatry, as well as an expense sheet for the Film Night dating from 1994 to 2005. Cards drawn by the children from the Child Psychiatry program for fundraising can also be found. Also included is a Dessert Cook Book which was developed as a retirement gift to Kathryn Carnaghan-Sherrard, Head Nurse of 4NE Child Psychiatry Dept. between 1967 and 1984. Some of the recipes were made for the annual Bake Sale by the children from the program who participated in the fund raising event.

The collection was donated by Dr. Ronald Feldman during the preparation of the 50th anniversary of the Child Psychiatry Division in 2017.

ScopeContent
This sub-series consists of three files. File 1-35-2.4-1.1 includes two DVDs, with one entitled "Family & Child (1960-2003)" and another converted from VHS tape which has been returned to Dr. Feldman, marking the history of the Child and Family Psychiatry at the JGH. The DVDs contain interviews with staff members who reflect on the beginning and evolving of their respective careers at the Child Psychiatry. Files 1-35-2.4-1.2 and 1-35-2.4-1.3 are two binders which contain original and scanned manuscripts authored by Dr. Ronald Feldman from 1960s to 2000s, as well as three newspaper articles dated in 1972, 1973 and 1980 respectively, concerning the services and the family therapy offered at the JGH Child Psychiatry, with Dr. Feldman also featured.

This sub-series consists of one USB key and two backup DVD-RWs which contain administrative records including a timeline (in Word format) of historical events of the Child Psychiatry division from 1967 to 2004, as well as annual reports of the division from 1990 to 2016, with gaps. Also included are rounds presentations and associated educational documents, workshop materials including video recordings, online newspaper articles, and interviews with Radio Canada. The collection also holds records pertaining to the preparation of the Christmas parties from 1993 to 2003, and two letters to Dr. Michael Bond and Dr. Karl Looper respectively concerning a reduction of Dr. Solomon's working hours in 2013 and his subsequent retirement in 2016. Also included are photos taken on various educational and celebrative events at the division, and two videos marking the retirement party in 2016 for Dr. Solomon, Carole Summers, Janet Sutherland, Judy Labow, Ellie Diner, Eva Fiel and Suzanne Racine, with one of the videos containing a farewell speech by Dr. Ronald Feldman, Founding Chief of Child Psychiatry (1967-1977), highlighting Judy Labow's role in the education program of the division.

This sub-series consists of various documents and ephemera created and curated by Rosemary Short over the years of her service as the Head Nurse at the Child Psych. File 1-35-2.4-4.1 includes primarily hospital publications, correspondence, administrative documents created during the course of the 1998 ice storm. File 1-35-2.4-4.2 contains reports, summaries, proposals, correspondence in English and French between senior management members and the government officials with regards to the building of the new Child Psychiatry centre between 2005 and 2011. File 1-35-2.4-4.3 and 1-35-2.4-4.4 contain correspondence between Rosemary Short and the co-presidents of the Auxiliary concerning the organization’s financial support for various projects by the division in 2000 and 2006 respectively. File 1-35-2.4-4.5 contains an undated brochure with French translation promoting the services at the Child Psychiatry. Also can be found is a summary of the division’s history, the services and its affiliation with the McGill University by Dr. Martin Solomon as the Director in 1994. File 1-35-2.4-4.6 contains a photograph and documents related to the Art Auction event of the Service on March 22, 2001. The sub-series also contains a copy of the official proposal entitled “Programme fonctionnel et technique : Centre de pédopsychiatrie” for the building of the new Child Psychiatry Centre by Jodoin Lamarre Pratte et associés architects, Bouthilette Parizeau and SDK et associés.

During the 50th anniversary of the Child Psychiatry in 2017, the volume was donated to the JGH Archives by Teodora Constantinescu, librarian at the ICFP Library, for the creation of the Child Psychiatry collection.

ScopeContent
The series contains a monograph written by Judith Fish in 1982 under the title “The Day Treatment Centre: Education in a Therapeutic Setting” for her study at McGill Univ. in the Master’s program for Elementary Education. A PDF of the Table of Contents is available.

This series consists of b/w and color photos, print and digital, that depict various staff activities, summer camps, physical facilities at the Child Psychiatry, leaders and key staff members of the division and the Psychiatry department, long-time volunteers and donors, as well as the construction of the new Centre for Child Development and Mental Health and its opening ceremony in 2010. The series also includes a collection marking the ceremony of the 50th anniversary of the Child Psychiatry that took place on site of the Centre on April 18, 2018. A digital collection donated by Joe Della Ciopa contains many photos of children participating in diverse recreational activities of the program, and various entertaining moments spent by the staff members together from the 1970s up to 2016.
