Cancer genetics; Hereditary cancer; Breast cancer; Prostate cancer; Head and neck cancer; Ovarian cancer.

Dr. Foulkes conducts research on breast cancer and is particularly interested in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. He has been exploring the clinicopathological features of BRCA1-related breast cancer and has identified a novel basal phenotype which is present in most of these tumours. In addition to hereditary breast cancer, he is also conducting studies on hereditary colorectal cancer.
