Sherrie Poplack, M.S.W.


Originally from Vancouver, Sherrie is a transplanted westerner. Having completed her couple and family therapy training at the Jewish general Hospital in 1979, she joined the faculty in 1983. She brings with her many years of experience in working with the children and families in the Department of Child Psychiatry at the Jewish General hospital.

Sherrie has been teaching family therapy to MSW students from McGill School of Social Work since 1980. She also provides family therapy orientation to medical students and psychiatric residents. As a senior social worker at the Jewish General Hospital, she is responsible for MSW training as well as being a long time member of the JGH Clinical Ethics Committee.

The breadth of her experience includes regular consultation to social workers in other parts of the hospital, as well as ongoing consultations and teaching to community social workers engaged in working with children and families.

Currently she co-ordinates and supervises in the Anglophone section of the CFT program.
