Joseph Cassell, P.S.W.
Joe Cassell received his MSW from McGill University. He completed his training in Couple and Family Therapy at the Jewish General Hospital in 1976, and is a Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. He completed his training as a psychoanalyst at the Canadian Psychoanalytic Institute in 1985 and, since 2007, has been a member of the Executive Council of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society (Quebec English).
Until 2003, he worked as Assistant Director of Youth Protection at Batshaw Youth and Family Services and, in that capacity, sat on the Board of several health and social service organizations. He has been in private practice for over 35 years, offering psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and couple therapy, and providing consultation to private clinicians in the community.
In addition, he currently works as a psychotherapist and supervisor in the Youth Services division of the Department of Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital, and is on the faculty of the Couple and Family Therapy Training Program at the hospital.
