JGH material

The access to our collections is provided for browsing, viewing, listening, discussion, and interpretation where such activities are limited to the purposes within the scope of the  Canadian Copyright Act - Fair Dealing Exceptions for which we request that you acknowledge the JGH Archives as the source.

Third-party material

Some of our holdings are protected by copyright or are owned by other organizations or individuals. In order to reproduce these types of materials, written permission must be obtained from the copyright owners prior to the act of reproducing.

Public domain material

This website provides access to digital reproductions, i.e. images in jpg and documents in pdf, of works that are in the Public Domain. For the purposes within the scope of “Fair Dealing Exception” in the Copyright Act, the web content can be freely used. We only request that you acknowledge the JGH Archives as the source.

Additional conditions

  • For all the approved reproductions, no content alterations or enhancements are allowed to our material. Credit to the JGH Archives as the source of the materials with the ID numbers should easily be seen near the area where the materials are used.
  • All reproductions provided by the JGH Archives remain the property of the JGH Archives. The Requester/Institution is strictly prohibited from further disseminating of the reproduction(s).
