The Department of Public Affairs and Communications is responsible for all internal and external communication for the Jewish General Hospital, including publications and web design, community relations and media relations. The department's staff is the official contact point for local, national and international media (including newspapers, magazines, television, radio and the internet) who seek any information related to the hospital.
The department's goal is to provide effective and timely information to the public, as well as to patients and staff. To that end, the department produces a variety of publications.
In addition, the Department of Public Affairs and Communications provides guidance to other hospital departments in producing internal and external publications; corporate, clinical and scientific marketing; website design and maintenance; and publicity for events in the hospital.
In the area of community relations, the Department organizes public lectures and tours for visitors, as well as for students interested in careers in the health carefield.

Glenn Nashen has been Director of the Public Affairs and Communications since 2001. He oversees all aspects of corporate communications and public relations. He is also a councillor for the city of Côte Saint-Luc, responsible for public safety.

Henry Mietkiewicz, Senior Communications Specialist
Henry joined the JGH in 2004, after 26 years as a columnist and features writer for the Toronto Star. He is editor-in-chief of the hospital's two leading publications, JGH News and Pulse, as well as the writer and editor of a wide range of other materials produced by the Department.

Dana started at the JGH in 2008 to assist with the 75th anniversary events and celebrations. She now organizes many events, such as openings, general assemblies, and staff recognition events. Laure-Elise Singer, Media Relations / Publications
Laure-Elise is the editor of the JGH staff newsletter, Pulse and the JGH intranet site, JGH Now. She writes for Pulse, JGH News and the website. Laure-Elise holds Bachelors degrees from McGill University in English literature and music history. Following four years at the Israeli Consulate in Montreal as a communications officer, she obtained her MA in English literature and worked as an editor for Yad Vashem's Research Institute in Israel.
