The Neuro-Oncology Team, which is comprised of neurosurgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, neuro-radiologists and radiation oncologists, work in collaboration with the McGill University Neuro-Oncology Group. The neurosurgeons operate on cancer patients removing primary and secondary brain tumours including those found in the cerebral hemispheres, cerebellum, pituitary gland and spine.

Specialized Multidisciplinary surgical teams devoted to the treatment of patients with tumours other than primary and secondary brain tumours include:
 
  1. The Neuro-Otology Team treats patients with acoustic neuromas, which are benign brain tumours that affect the functioning of the inner ear. (Neurosurgeon:  Gerard Mohr, MD; Otologic Surgeons: Jamie Rappaport, MD, Jean-Jacques Dufour, MD) 
  2. The Skull Base Team, consisting of neurosurgeons, head and neck, orthopedic and plastic surgeons, remove malignant tumours of the anterior skull base. Neurosurgeons are also working in collaboration with head and neck surgeons performing minimally invasive endoscopic surgery for pituitary gland tumours.   3. The Neuro-Endocrinology Team works with the Division of Endocrinology to maintain patients’ adrenal function during and after surgery to remove tumours of the pituitary gland. (Neurosurgeon: Gerard Mohr, MD; Endocrinologist: Peter Assimakopoulos, MD) 
  4. The Neuro-Orthopedic Team consists of neurosurgeons who work in close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons on cases of metastatic and primary tumours of the spine. (Neurosurgeon: Jeff Golan, MD; Orthopedic Surgeon: Peter Jarzem, MD)
