The Colorectal Cancer Program is comprised of an inter-disciplinary team with expertise in medical and radiation oncology, gastroenterology, nursing, cancer genetics, cancer prevention, psychosocial support and palliative care medicine.

The Program provides the following clinical services to patients:

• Education (in collaboration with the Cancer Prevention Centre): lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of developing colorectal cancer; importance of colonoscopy.

• Post-polypectomy clinic: education on colon cancer, dietary aspects in colon cancer prevention, psychological support, nursing support and medical follow-up.

• Genetic screening for hereditary cancers and counseling (in collaboration with the Cancer Prevention Centre and the Cancer Genetics Program).

• Screening of the general population by colonoscopy.

• Primary cancer diagnosis and treatment.

• Treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.

• Access to clinical trials testing the newest treatments.
