Overview
The foremost responsibility of the Department of Surgery at the Jewish General Hospital is to its patients. This is reflected in their mission to pursue excellence in all aspects of comprehensive, patient-centered surgical care, in teaching, research and evaluation of technology. To fulfill its larger role, the Department also leads in the development of new knowledge and surgical techniques, in the transmission of these to its communities of staff and students, as well as in their application for the benefit of society at large.
