General information
To reduce the spread of influenza and other respiratory diseases, the Jewish General Hospital has implemented strict infection prevention and control screening measures, especially in its Emergency Department and in all outpatient clinics.

Patients who have a cough and/or fever are asked to wear a mask and to use liquid hand sanitizer, which is available in waiting rooms. In the Emergency Department, a separate section of the waiting area will be reserved for these patients.

“Visitors with cough and fever are asked not to visit the hospital unless they are seeking medical treatment,” says Dr. Mark Miller, Chief of Infectious Diseases. “If they are seeking medical treatment, they are asked to do so in the Emergency Department. If they are presenting themselves for other types of treatment, they’re asked to notify the personnel in the treatment area so that appropriate measures may be taken.”
