Overview
The JGH Department of Diagnostic Medicine was formed as a result of the merger of the laboratories of the Divisions of Medical Biochemistry, Hematology and Microbiology, and the Blood Transfusion Service. These laboratories—which measure and examine blood, urine, fluids, secretions, discharges and tissue samples—provide critical information for the diagnosis, monitoring, prevention and treatment of disease. Without accurate and timely testing, medical professionals cannot arrive at a proper diagnosis or provide necessary treatments.
