ARTHUR PASCAL, 1973 - 1976
Arthur Pascal had a long and rewarding association with the Jewish General Hospital, where he held various positions including Vice‑President and Chairman of the Building Committee. In addition, he had a long record of service on behalf of Canada and many charitable organizations, as well the private sector. Born and educated in Montreal, Mr. Pascal served in Europe for four years during World War II as a member of the 7th Reconnaissance Regiment, 3rd Canadian Division. His tireless efforts for the community included positions as a member of the Executive Committee of the Allied Jewish Community Services; Chairman of the Combined Jewish Appeal; Chairman of the Working Committee of the Canadian Red Cross’ Blood Transfusion Service; Co‑President of the Quebec Region of the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews; Honourary Vice‑Chairman of the Quebec Council of Boy Scouts of Canada; and Honourary Chairman of the Federation of French Catholic Charities. In recognition of his contribution, Mr. Pascal was awarded the Order of Canada in 1976. On the business scene, Mr. Pascal was Executive Vice‑President of the J. Pascal Hardware Company, Director of Dominion Textile Ltd., Director Montreal Trust and Vice‑President of Canada Israel Development Ltd. |
